During their college ultimate careers in the South Region, Sheena Connell (University of North Texas) and Michelle Ng (University of Texas, Austin) realized that one of the primary obstacles to the growth and development of their region was a lack of resources- both financial and knowledge-based. In an effort to put the South Region on a better path of development, they worked to get the South Region college women's team leaders and captains organized and networked. This happened informally first, then evolved into a Google Group where everyone was able to exchange information and ideas. A bi-weekly discussion of topics such as fundraising, player development, and practice planning has recently been started, with the goal being to put the captain of every team in the region in a position to help her team succeed. There is a shortage of information and resources that are available to college women's ultimate captains across the country. Taking on a captaining role can be a daunting task and this website is designed to assist you in helping your team reach their goals. College Women's Ultimate Resources is going to be a constant work in progress and and this website is intended to be a compilation of resources from people who have been in your shoes, and who can help you learn from their experiences. So, take a look around, and come back often for updates! *** We are in the process of putting together a College Women's Ultimate Resources Manual, which should be available in early March. New content on this website may be delayed until then. *** |
