Michelle played for the University of California, Berkeley from
2004-2006, before moving to Austin for grad school,
where she played for the University of Texas, Austin for two seasons. She captained Berkeley in 2006, finishing third in the nation's Callahan voting, and captained Texas in 2008, earning South All-Region honors. Michelle started the Bay
Area women's club team Slackjaw in 2007 and captained the team in 2007 and 2008. She has run nearly a dozen college tournaments including the Texas
Women's Fall Tournament, Midwest Warmup, Midwest Throwdown, Philly Classic, and Women's College Centex. Michelle is an advocate for college women's ultimate, covered the 2009 UPA College Championships for the UPA, has written various features for The Huddle, and is currently serving on a UPA committee that is working to develop a women's leadership training program. While she hopes to play ultimate as competitively as possible for as long as possible, her passion is helping to develop college women's ultimate at the grassroots level. She currently plays for Texas Showdown, and when she's not on Gmail, she's either playing ultimate, running Shuttles A (you don't want to know!), throwing, babysitting kids at church, or building green affordable housing. |
